The Perch

This project was a collaboration with theater students from Butler University. The performance was to be site specific and would be tailored to the space. Our task was to create a piece for interaction. My goal was to create a piece that stood out but didn’t attach to the space in any way. The piece was created in such a way that there were no anchors or fasteners to attach to the structure itself. The support came from the compression fitting that I made for the opening in the brick wall. The piece was used for narration for a portion of the show as it was visually accessible from the entire space at 13 feet above the floor.
